Jen & Co. seeks a staff accountant to join our growing company in Nocross/Duluth, GA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for day-to-day accounting functions, daily deposits, bank and credit card reconciliation, creating commission reports, and assist with month-end and year-end closes, and working with Taxjar on handling retail tax matters.

Responsibilities:

Prepare journal entries

Make daily deposits

Process and code vendor invoices

Bank and credit card account reconciliation

Balance sheet reconciliation

Assist with month-end and year-end close

Commission Report

Enter payment via CSV import

Assist in process improvements in the accounting department

Prepare supporting documentation for audits (internal and external)

Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request

Contribute to the implementation, maintenance, and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP.

Review TaxJar transactions to ensure taxes are filed and paid correctly across different states.

Qualifications and Experience:

Accounting: 2 years (Required)

GAAP 2 years (Required)

NetSuite: 1 year (Preferred)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic

Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines

Proficient with Microsoft Excel

Take action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

Proficient in accounting software and ability to apply basic accounting concepts.
