The City of Johns Creek congratulates Johns Creek resident Yijun “Tom” Feng on earning a spot on the 2016 Olympic Table Tennis Team representing the United States in the upcoming Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro. Whereas Tom earned his spot on day two, during the North American Olympic Qualification Tournament held in Markham, Ontario; and Whereas, Tom’s impressive championships, such as the 2015 U.S. Men’s Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles Champion and the 2015 U.S. Youth Singles Champion provides an indication of his passion and drive for the sport of Table Tennis; and Whereas it is through his hard work and dedication to the game and with the support of his family, teammates at the Atlanta International Table Tennis Academy, located here in Johns Creek, and his Coach Alex Yang, that has helped Tom achieve such an opportunity to compete; and Whereas after the Olympic Games, Tom plans on attending the University of Georgia to pursue a Business Degree, we look forward to seeing where his bright future will take him. Now, the Mayor and Council of the City of Johns Creek hereby congratulates and wish Tom Feng all the best as he represents his hometown and the United States on his Olympic quest!
