Recently, there were email and WeChat messages among various chat groups and social media channels in the name of Homeland Security Alert regarding unauthorized UPS uniform purchase. We, Atlanta168.com, reached out to Susan Rosenberg, UPS Public Relations Director. She indicated the current Homeland Security email bulletin is a hoax. UPS actively monitors the unauthorized re-sale of UPS uniforms on E-Bay and takes measures to remove them from the public domain. “As a matter of safety and security it is prudent in any situation to ask for an ID from any delivery personnel if you are in doubt”, Susan said. Here are links to the U.S. Customs & Border Protection site within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to show you that this has been repeatedly verified as a hoax since it first began circulating in 2003. You can see other references as rumor debunked when you perform a UPS search on such sites as www.snopes.com , www.scambusters.org, www.hoaxbusters.org or the urban legend site on about.com.
