Following is the original annoucement:
We are so excited about our upcoming Community Champions Banquet on Friday, September 14th at Canton House Restaurant. In addition to our keynote speaker Vern Yip, we are recognizing three awardees for their exceptional contributions to furthering the civil, social and economic rights of immigrants in Georgia and the Southeast. Meet our Community Champion Awardees!
Community Champion Lifetime AwardeeAlex Y. Wu
A native of China, Alex has devoted more than 30 years of his life serving and advocating for Asian Pacific Americans in Georgia. Alex is one of the founding members of Organization of Chinese Americans (OCA) Georgia Chapter, the Asian Pacific American Council of Georgia (APAC), the Chinese Americans Lions Club and the Asian American Seniors Association of Atlanta. He has served in different capacities for all of these groups and continues to be actively involved in their leadership and growth. Alex is also a member of Leadership Atlanta Class of 1989, and has served on the Board of Directors for United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta, Dekalb County Hospital authority, and Dekalb International Medical Center. He and his wife Daisy live in Dunwoody.
Community Champion Awardee
Keish Kim
Publicly coming out with her undocumented status in recent years, Keish Kim is one of 1.7+ million immigrant children living in the US without status and one of only a few courageous Asian American youth advocates in the South. Keish is the co-founder of Georgia Undocumented Youth Alliance (GUYA) which successfully contested amendments that would have further restricted the availability of higher education for undocumented students in Georgia. Keish is also a member of Freedom University, an ad hoc volunteer-driven institution founded in 2011 that provides rigorous, college-level instruction to all academically qualified students regardless of their immigration status. Keish was recently awarded a full private scholarship to attend Syracuse University in New York.

Korean Media Involved with HB 87 PSA Fundraiser
In July 2011, seven leading Korean news outlets came together to plan and launch a joint HB 87 media fundraising campaign with proceeds benefiting Asian American Legal Advocacy Center (AALAC). For two weeks these groups provided free print advertisements, radio spots, and television public service announcements on House Bill 87 and promoted a weekend-long fundraiser to support AALAC. The Korean media groups are (in alphabetical order): Atlanta Korea Radio, Chosun Ilbo, Christianity Daily, Korea Daily, Korean Southeast News, Korean Television Network (KTN)and News.n.Post. You can view the television public service announcement created by Korean Television Network (KTN) here:
