The Emory Vaccine and Treatment Evaluation Unit (VTEU) is looking for breastfeeding women 18 to 49 years old and their infants

to participate in a flu vaccine study

Purpose: The purpose of this research study is to help us learn more about how the flu vaccines Flumist® (nose spray) and Fluzone® (shot in the arm) work in breastfeeding mothers and their infants. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends both of these vaccines for breastfeeding women.



To Be In This Study You Must:



 Be between 18 and 49 years of age Have delivered a healthy infant in the past 28 (1 month) to 120 days (4

months)  Be breastfeeding at least 50% (half) of the time

Be available for 4 or 5 study visits over a 6 month period  Have a healthy infant

Reimbursement:

Participants may receive up to $250 in compensation for time and travel.
