2011 OCA MENTORING PROGRAM BENEFITS LOCAL API LEADERS
By Norman Chu (OCA – Georgia Immediate Past President)
The OCA Mentoring Asian American Professionals (MAAP) program, with the generous sponsorship of UPS and partnership with National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP Atlanta) completed their 2011 mentoring program this past week on August 21, 2011. In it's 3rd year, the program drew 30 participants from local companies (e.g. UPS, Georgia Power, AT&T, Coca Cola, Kimberly Clark). The 4-month program helped develop successful mentoring relationships and key skills for success - networking, communications & negotiations, collaborative decision making, and leadership. The goal is to develop future APA leaders who can give back to the community.
Facilitators and organizers included MAAP graduates, OCA and NAAP board members: Juwono Bong, Kumar Vishal, Arthur Lam, Sarah Hawk, Kevin Hamada, Jeff Moy, Tom Hayashi, Norman Chu
