SATURDAY

Festival: The East Atlanta Strut offers an artists’ market and lots of entertainment at this 13th annual event. There will also be a parade (at 2 p.m.) and a 5K run in the morning. 10 a.m.- 10 p.m. Sept. 18 in East Atlanta Village

Festival: The Convention Center at Gwinnett Center is the home for this year’s installment of JapanFest, the annual celebration of Japanese art and culture. “Discover Japan” is the theme for the fest, which starts at 10 a.m. Sept. 18-19.

Music, benefit: The yearly Concert in the Quarry raises money for the Forsyth County Schools’ music and arts programs. The concert features Atlanta trumpeter Joe Gransden with guests Big Mike Geier and Annie Sellick. At 7 p.m. Sept. 18 at the Martin Marietta Forsyth Quarry, Suwanee.

Festival: Arts and crafts are back in Piedmont Park with this weekend’s 4th annual Atlanta Arts Festival. The free event starts at 10 a.m. Sept. 18-19

Festival: Georgia’s own John Berry will perform and there will be nearly 200 vendors offering art, crafts and festival food at the Suwanee Day Festival. the fun begins at 10 a.m. Sept. 18 and concludes with fireworks in Suwanee Town Center Park.

Festival: Handmade arts and crafts and fine bluegrass music are the stars at the Shakerag Arts and Crafts Festival, happening 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sept. 18 and noon-5 p.m. Sept. 19 in Peachtree City.

Comedy: He’s probably best known as Tom Haverford on NBC’s “Parks and Recreation,” but Aziz Ansari is one of the hottest touring stand-up comedians at the moment. His 7:30 p.m show at the Tabernacle on Sept. 18 sold out and second was added at 10:30 p.m.

Music: Traditional Persian musical ensemble Homay and Mastan Ensemble performs at Georgia Tech’s Ferst Center for the Arts at 8 p.m. Sept. 18.

Visual arts: Take a stroll through one of the fastest growing area’s of Atlanta at the Westside Arts District 3rd Saturday Art Walk. 11 a.m. Sept. 18 Check the Westside Arts District’s map for locations.

SUNDAY

Festival: Get a taste of the past at the Atlanta History Center’s Fall Folk Life Festival. The fest begins at noon Sept. 19. and is included in the cost of general admission, which is $16.50 for adults, with discounts for students and senior citizens.

Festival: Fiesta Georgia celebrates Georgia’s Latino community with family fun, lots of music, food, entertainment, arts & crafts, culture and activities. 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers.

Music: Former Jump, Little Children frontman Jay Clifford plays one of his solo acoustic shows at Smiths Olde Bar at 7 p.m. Sept. 19.
