Georgia China Life Sciences Forum

Co-Sponsored by the Georgia China Alliance and Sutherland Asbill & Brennan, LLP

Along with our fellow sponsor and GCA member Sutherland Asbill & Brennan, the Georgia China Alliance is pleased to announce the Georgia China Life Sciences Forum, to be held on Friday, December 4th, 2009.  This forum will be held in conjunction with a meeting of the Atlanta Chinese Scholars Club.

Georgia's advances in building its life sciences industry gained significant momentum in recent years.  For instance, Dendreon Corporation, a Seattle-based biotechnology company, will locate a new $70 million manufacturing facility in Union City to manufacture a drug for patients with advanced prostate cancer.

Georgia's academic institutions have been the bedrock of this growth.  Most of these institutions have benefited significantly from Chinese professors and researchers, hence our partnership with the Atlanta Chinese Scholars Club in hosting this forum.

The life sciences industry is ideal for developing collaboration, partnership, and cross-investment between Chinese and U.S. companies and institutions.  This forum will explore those opportunities in depth.

Many of these professors are not only engaged in research with their respective institutions, but are involved with private life sciences companies in both China and the United States.  Consequently, they have direct experience in Georgia-China life sciences connections.
