About the speaker

Ms. Weixing (Star) Chen, Vice General Manager of Shanghai Wai Gao Qiao (Group) Co. Ltd.

Ms. Weixing (Star) Chen, a graduate from the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, has had a signficiant impact on Shanghai's property development. After receiving her masters degree in Economics, Ms. Chen has participated in numerous government programs. For thirteen years, she devoted herself to the Pudong New Area Development and to the Shanghai Jinqiao Export Processing Zone Development Co., Ltd. Because of her expertise and skills, Ms. Chen was appointed as the Vice General Manager of the Jinqiao Export Processing Zone Development Co. With this title, Ms. Chen's responsiblities grew enormously. She was in charge of the planning, marketing, developing and managing of the "Green City"--known for its large international community.

During her term with the Shanghai Jinqiao Export Processing Zone Development, the Green City was awarded the "2004 Fashion Community" and its Green Villas were prized as "Shanghai Ten Classical Building 1949-1999".

In 2004, Ms. Chen joined the Shanghai Wai Gao Qiao Free Trade Zone and was appointed as the vice general manager of the Shanghai Wai Gao Qiao  (Group) Co., Ltd. whose main purpose is to oversee the Waigaoqiao New Town Development. It consists of 14 sq. kilometer and is to be completed in 2020.
