AALAC and its partners in our Pan Asian Action Network (PAAN) Coalition are organizing an emergency dinner meeting tonight to discuss the latest version of the English-only driver license bill and strategize on how to organize our communities to speak out against this measure.  AALAC and members of PAAN have successfully beaten down English-only driver license bills the past 5 years and we will take the lead again to ensure this regressive policy is defeated.  To read more about our position on English-only legislation (including information in Korean, Chinese and Vietnamese languages) click here:

Call your Georgia Senator and ask him or her to OPPOSE the Georgia's English Only Senate Resolution 1031 TODAY!

Senate Resolution 1031, sponsored by Senator Don Balfour, aims to discriminate against people who are limited English proficient by proposing to place a question on the November 2014 election ballot asking if Georgia's constitution should be changed to make English the official language of Georgia.  The United States Constitution recognizes the history of discrimination against immigrants and places protections on discrimination based on national origin.  Unfortunately, legislators, like Senator Don Balfour, keep trying to take those rights away.

The resolution is expected to receive a vote in the Senate Rules Committee sometime this afternoon!!!  We need to call our senators and tell them to vote NO on this resolution.

To find who your senator is, please click here.
