Dear AAPOG friends and supporters,

The Asian American Peace Officers of Georgia (AAPOG) would like to invite you to attend and sponsor the1st AAPOG Asian Pacific American Heroes & Advocates Awards Banquet, on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Oriental Pearl Seafood Restaurant, 5399 New Peachtree Road, Chamblee, GA 30341.Banquet proceeds benefit AAPOG Scholarship and APA Community Outreach Programs.

The keynote speaker is Mark F. Giuliano, FBI Atlanta Division Special Agent in Charge. Theinvocation speaker is Elder Leonard Leo, Atlanta Chinese Christian Church North in Johns Creek. 2013 Honorees include: the inaugural Asian Pacific American Peace Officer of the Year - Mike Grant, FBI special agent (ret.) of Japanese American heritage; Asian Pacific American of the Year  - Marilyn Doromal, Southeast regional chair of the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA); and 2013 AAPOG Community Champions: Asian Pacific American Historical Society, Atlanta Chinese Christian Church North, National Association of Asian American Professionals - Atlanta, Raksha (a South Asian domestic violence prevention agency), Sandy Springs Police Department, Sung Ming Shu Dojo, White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, and Yen Jing Chinese Restaurant. We will also be awarding our first 3 AAPOG Scholarships to APA undergraduates who are pursuing careers in law enforcement and/or public service.

We have attached additional information about the Banquet which includes sponsorship opportunities and ads/announcement placement opportunities in the Banquet program book. The Asian American Peace Officers of Georgia (AAPOG) is a non-profit professional organization for peace officers of Asian Pacific American descent in Georgia affiliated with law enforcement agencies at the federal, state, and local levels. AAPOG officers represent diverse Asian heritages - Asian Indian, Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Laotian, Thai, Vietnamese, and more. A key AAPOG goal is to promote the safety and well-being of Asian Pacific Americans in Georgia through the AAPOG Community Outreach Program, which includes: firearms safety training, self-defense workshops, and community education programs with panels of Asian American law enforcement officers at places of worship and community organizations. We appreciate the contributions of the community and supporters for helping AAPOG to achieve this goal.
